Shadows in the Forest is a cooperative board game designed for 2 or more players aged 8 and up. The game is played in the dark, with one player controlling a lantern that illuminates the board, while the other players control Shadowlings; creatures that must avoid the light. The goal is for the Shadowlings to gather together in one hiding spot without being caught in the light.

How to Play

1. Setup: Place the trees and other obstacles on the board. Turn off the lights and turn on the LED lantern.
2. Decide who will be the Seeker and who will be the Shadowlings
3. The Seeker closes their eyes while the Shadowlings place their figures into hiding places.
4. The Seeker rolls the glow in the dark die and moves the lantern that many spaces in any direction they choose
5. They then look to see if any Shadowlings have been exposed, if they have they remove the mask from the Shadowing and that figure can no longer move.
6. The Shadowlings can now try to rescue the captured figure but if they go into the light they are also captured.
7. Game play continues until all Shadowlings are captured by the Seeker or united in the shadows for one whole turn.

Kids will love Shadows in the Forest for it’s ability to set the atmosphere by playing in the dark, utilizing real light and shadows to create a unique and immersive experience.
